Critical Geographies Conference

In partnership with Arts Northwest, Feiro Marine Life Center, and the Center for Community Design (C4CD), Peninsula College is proud to present this year's conference, welcoming a wide range of spatially-oriented critical scholarship. The conference will be held on Saturday, November 2, 2013 on the main campus. The organizers encourage creative media on various themes from geography and other disciplines.

Last year’s conference recognized unceded Coast Salish territories in British Columbia and emphasized decolonization. The unique geographies of the Olympic Peninsula provide not only potential topics for scholarly work but excellent opportunities in the arts.

We welcome you to submit paper or panel abstracts on a wide variety of geographical topics that may include, but are not limited to political economy, feminist, and post colonial perspectives. We encourage creative presentations that feature visual arts, music, poetry, or other media. Abstracts should be 200 words maximum and submitted by (revised) October 21, 2013. There is no fee to attend the conference, and graduate students are particularly encouraged to apply.
