Basic Beginnings Learning Center   A parent-run cooperative preschool affiliated with Peninsula College's Family Life Education Program.

Program Philosophy  The early childhood years are treasured at the Basic Beginnings Learning Center as being precious years of development. Young children have a love of learning and are excited about almost everything. They need lots of activity and learn best by doing. That is why the Center provides a variety of activities where the children have a chance to smell, see, hear, touch, and taste. Young children need to be nurtured in their social interactions. They need practice sharing, taking turns, and respecting others when they want to play alone. Social interaction is emphasized at the Center, where we teach and practice problem-solving skills. The Center recognizes the importance of nurturing social, emotional, and academic skills during the early childhood years. At the Center children get practice in these areas in ways that are fun and appropriate for their age and development.   Class Times  Tuesdays & Thursdays 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.   Age Groupings Multi-age grouping: babies to 5 years of age   Tuition Registration Fee: $25.00 Monthly Tuition: $30.00 for the first child ,additional children: $20.00 each *** College Education Credit **** (You get this credit through participation in the Center.)   Teacher Kim McIrvin   Daily Schedule 9:30 a.m. to 9:40 a.m. Arrival; Table Toy Play 9:40 a.m. to 9:55 a.m. Circle Time 9:55 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Open Center Choices 10:30 a.m. to 10:50 a.m. Clean-up and Story Circle 10:50 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Snack 11:10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Free Choice and Large Motor Activities 11:30 a.m. Goodbye Song   Parent Involvement   Bring snack, clean, and assist teacher (rotating basis) Attend monthly parenting education meetings Actively partake in fundraising activities Participate in daily preschool activities with your child.
