The Arts
Peninsula College offers students and community members a number of activities and events in the arts. Among them are the Foothills Writers Series, The Magic of Cinema Film Series, the literary and artistic journal Tidepools, the Studium Generale program, theater, concerts and gallery exhibits. Courses in the arts include music, painting, art history, film, drama, literature, writing and photography.
Foothills Writers Series
The Foothills Writers Series hosts a year-long series of readings by noted authors. Local and regional writers and poets are frequently highlighted, as well as nationally known authors. Readings are free and open to the public.

The Magic of Cinema Film Series
"The Magic of Cinema" is a film series sponsored by Peninsula College, with funding from the Peninsula College Foundation and the Associated Student Council. The series seeks to present the range of possibilities of film as an art form through screenings of classics from art cinema and the Golden Age of Hollywood, as well as contemporary foreign and independent features and documentaries. The series will continue throughout the academic year. All shows are in the Peninsula College Little Theater on the main campus (J-16).

Studium Generale
The award-winning Studium Generale program at Peninsula College is celebrating its thirty eighth year of providing the college and community with a variety of informative programs in the humanities, social sciences, and sciences. Programs will be held in the Little Theater (J-16) on the college campus each Thursday from 12:35 to 1:25 p.m. All programs are open to the public at no charge on a seat-availability basis. Programs may be subject to change.
