Associated Student Council
The Associated Student Council is the governing body for the students of Peninsula College. It is comprised of three executive officers, elected in the spring, and nine other officers, selected in the spring. The 2011-12 executive officers include President Jonas Brown, Vice President Kimmy Jones and Vice President of Programming Rachel Thompson. The representatives include Tabitha Bare, Leisl Brown, Timothy Douglass, Jessica Farrell, Josie Hansen, Rebeca Hanson, James Landreth, Nicole McGoff and Corey Nelson.
Meetings are held at 12:30 on Tuesdays, October through June in the ASC Conference Room, located on the south side of the PUB. Students, staff and faculty are welcome.
The ASC's primary function is to develop the student budget and to oversee student activities and programs, including concerts, dances, child care, clubs, athletics, recreation, field trips, etc.
How can I get involved with the ASC?
Students, including incoming freshman, are welcome to fill out an application (below) and submit it to the Office of Student Programs by mid-May. It is also common for the ASC to have openings throughout the year, so interested students are also welcome to fill out an application for the ASC to have on file for future openings. Other leadership opportunities at Peninsula College include one of three student spots on the College Council, as well as club leadership and work through Peninsula's ambassador program. Students interested in any of those opportunities are welcome to contact ASC president Jonas Brown or advisor Rick Ross at asc@pencol.edu or 360-417-6432, or advisor Rick Ross at rross@pencol.edu or 360-417-6533.
