College Offering GED Testing at Extension Sites
Peninsula College will offer the General Educational Development (GED) Test at its Forks Extension Site on November 29, and at its Port Townsend Extension Site on Thursday, December 6.
The Forks Extension site is located at 71 South Forks Avenue and the Port Townsend Extension Site is located at Fort Worden State Park, 298 Battery Way.
Successful completion of the GED Test provides individuals with the opportunity to advance to their next goal―college, technical training, military, or a better job.
Individuals who have not completed a practice GED test or enrolled in a GED preparation course are strongly encouraged to complete a practice test prior to scheduling an appointment.
West End / Forks: Practice testing may also be scheduled through Stacy Fournier in LaPush at (206) 714-0316 or Sandi Ward in Neah Bay at (360) 645-3071.
Port Townsend: Practice testing, offered at no charge, may be scheduled through Sue Lemay or Adrienne Ely in the Jefferson Education Center in Port Hadlock by calling (360) 531-4112.
The testing fee is $150 for the complete battery, or $30 per test. Payment and state or federally issued photo identification is required at the time of testing. Washington State’s minimum age for testing is 19.
GED testing is offered, by appointment, most Tuesdays on the Port Angeles campus.
Computer-based GED testing will be introduced in January 2014. Those currently testing are encouraged to complete their testing by December 2013.
For information on underage testing and/or to schedule an appointment, please contact Wendy Shea, GED Chief Examiner, at Peninsula College in Port Angeles by calling (360) 417-6346 or toll free at 1 (800) 452-9277, ext. 6346.
