Peninsula College’s Studium Generale will welcome Oregon Shakespeare Festival (OSF) actors for two performances on Thursday, November 2, 2017 at 10:20 am and 12:35 pm. Both shows are free and open to the public and will be held in The Little Theater.
Nathan Mark and Esther Williamson are cast members of the internationally-known Oregon Shakespeare Festival in Ashland, Oregon. They are also this year's visiting school partners.
"Expectations" will be shown at 10:20 am and shared with literature, humanities, and other composition classes. Within the program, the following question will be presented: What happens when we have expectations of others or they have expectations of us, but things don’t turn out the way we expect them to?
Using a series of Shakespearean and contemporary scenes, the actors will provide the audience with entertaining insights into the world of expecting the unexpected, through a Shakespearean set of perspectives.
The second performance, an adaptation of William Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet, will begin promptly at 12:35 pm as part of the college's Studium Generale program.
The program is co-sponsored with Foothills Writers Series and the PC English Department.
