Peninsula College seeks a dynamic, thoughtful, and collaborative leader to serve in the capacity of Associate Dean for Enrollment Services. Under the general supervision of the Vice President for Student Services, the Associate Dean provides leadership in the development, implementation, and analysis of systems that enhance student success from the first point of contact through the completion of degrees and certificates. Within a Guided Pathways framework, the Associate Dean provides vision, guidance, and focus in services related to onboarding and ongoing support. The Associate Dean provides supervisory oversight and leads a team of student services professionals for the areas of student recruitment, admissions, financial aid, registration and records, credentials evaluations, and Pirate Central.
The Associate Dean serves as a member of the Student Services Leadership team and works closely with the departments of Student Development, Athletics and Student Programs, Marketing, and International Programs. In addition, the Associate Dean works collaboratively with other college divisions and departments within Instruction and Administrative Services. The Associate Dean models the Guiding Principles in all interactions and work across campus with students, faculty, and staff.
- Provide leadership in the development, implementation, and administration of a comprehensive range of goals and programs in the Student Services areas of: Student Recruitment, Admissions, Financial Aid, Registration and Records, Credentials Evaluations, and Pirate Central.
- Develop program budgets and maintain fiscal and program accountability.
- Build and maintain positive interdepartmental relationships within Student Services as well as other academic and administrative units of the college, to promote student success and a positive learning community.
- Provide leadership in accordance with the Mission, Vision, Guiding Principles, and Strategic Plan established by the College, furthering Goals and Strategic Initiatives.
- Oversee the College’s intake process from the point of application to enrollment.
- Provide leadership and serve as a member of Strategic Enrollment Management Committee and Guided Pathways Steering Committee.
- Lead Guided Pathways Onboarding Workgroup through planning and implementation.
- Co-lead Recruitment and Marketing subcommittee of Strategic Enrollment Management Committee.
- Serve as the certifying official for all student records.
- Develop and administer registration and records policies and procedures.
- Oversee student records functions for the college ensuring compliance with records retention policies, family educational rights privacy act (FERPA), and college policies and procedures. Ensure the integrity, accuracy and security of all student academic records.
- Review and resolve student appeals concerning tuition refunds, fees, and related procedures.
- Recommends, develops and implements policies and procedures that foster and promote student-centered services and programs and ensure smooth and effective operations.
- Responsible for creating and maintaining a welcoming and efficient environment that promotes excellent student service in a fast-paced, multicultural setting.
- Develop and implement policies and procedures for operating units.
- Lead employee searches, train, supervise, and evaluate employees in accordance with negotiated agreements, applicable state and federal laws, and College policies and procedures.
- Prepare reports and analytical materials to illustrate objectives, activities, and accomplishments of areas of responsibility.
- Identify, implement, and maintain cutting-edge technology solutions that actively engage students, positively impact the student experience, and create efficiencies for staff.
- Serve as lead for ongoing development and implementation of Navigate student success platform in partnership with Education Advisory Board (EAB).
- Remain current on innovative Student Services programming and implement new ideas as appropriate.
- Represent Peninsula College at local, state, and national levels as appropriate.
- Serve as Title IX and/or Student Conduct investigator.
- Perform special assignments and related duties as directed by the Vice President for Student Services.
- Master’s degree or currently enrolled in a Master’s degree program in Student Development, College Student Personnel Administration, Higher Education Leadership, or closely related program.
- Five years of experience in Student Services in a college or university setting.
- Three years of demonstrated leadership skills including supervisory, budgetary, and project management experience.
- Demonstrated ability to work as part of an administrative team and support a team environment.
- Demonstrated ability to build positive working relationships with students, faculty, and staff.
- Demonstrated organizational, oral and written communication, prioritization, budgetary, and time-management skills.
- Demonstrated intercultural competency skills and commitment to equity and inclusion.
- Ability to support a diverse workplace and educational environment.
- Community college experience.
- Enrollment management experience.
- Knowledge of and experience with student success technology platforms and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems such as Banner or PeopleSoft.
- Experience with the development and implementation of Guided Pathways.
Physical Work Environment:
- Work is typically performed in an office environment and requires standing and/or sitting and using computers for extended periods of time.
- Position requires the ability to travel to in-district and out-of-district events.
- Annual 12-month exempt position.
- Salary: $75,000 – $80,000
- Excellent benefits package including medical, dental, life, and long-term disability insurance; paid vacation and sick leave; retirement plan options; optional credit union and tax deferred annuity programs. Peninsula College contributes $913 per month towards the cost of the Washington State employee insurance programs. The college also supports professional development.
