Under general supervision this position performs a wide variety of tasks in support of Student Development with a heavy focus on the High School Programs area.
- Perform general duties in support of Student Development, such as: filing; copies; maintaining forms; etc.
Perform general and specific duties in support of High School Programs, such as:
- Coding/System work
- Assist with Running Start Admission Applications
- Assist with biographic data entry of CTE Dual Credit enrollments
- Assist with the end of the year coding for Running Start students who have graduated
- Scanning documents into Onbase
- Maintaining and organizing extensive student files
- Assist with implementation of Running Start book and bus pass program support
- Assist with tracking of CTE Dual Credit and Running Start student advising and registration
- Support Team Advising of Running Start students
- Running Start student outreach phone calls & appointment reminders
- Quickly troubleshoot technical issues as they arise.
- Maintain confidentiality of student materials and student information.
- Assist with Student Services projects in support of student success objectives.
- Other duties as assigned.
Duties of the position require the knowledge, skills, and abilities to:
- Use a variety of computer systems for test delivery and application programs such as Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Follow general office procedures and use office equipment.
- Demonstrate excellent customer service.
- Work positively and effectively with a diverse population and to communicate clearly with native and non-native English speakers.
- Provide clear explanations of complex and technical information orally and in writing.
- Work independently and as a member of a team.
- Work in a fast-paced office environment with many interruptions.
- Perform duties with accuracy and speed.
- Two years of clerical experience
- High school diploma
- Associates degree
- Work is typically performed in an office which requires sitting, keyboarding or standing for extended periods of time. Must be able to walk around the Assessment & Placement Room at frequent intervals.
- Salary: $13.60 an hour
- Part-time hourly position
- Schedule: up to 78 hours per month
- Prior to a new hire, a background check including criminal record history will be conducted. Information from the background check will not necessarily preclude employment but will be considered in determining the applicant’s suitability and competence to perform in the position.
- This position will be in a union shop bargaining unit at any time hours worked exceed 350 hours in any consecutive 12 month period. At the time hours exceed the 350 hour threshold, the employee will be required to become a member of the Washington Federation of State Employees or pay non-associate fees. Non-payment of such fees is grounds for dismissal.
- In compliance with the Immigration and Naturalization Act, proof of authorization to work in the United States will be required at the time of hire.
