Peninsula College recognizes and appreciates all who have served in the United States Armed Forces. If you are a veteran, or a survivor, or a dependent of a veteran working toward a degree or certificate, you may be eligible for veterans educational benefits. Services are open to all student veterans and dependents.
The Veterans Services Office (VSO) acts as a liaison with Veterans Affairs (VA) for individuals who plan to use their VA educational benefits to attend classes at Peninsula College.
Veterans Priority Registration
Veterans and National Guard Members can participate in Veterans Priority Registration. If you qualify for participation, you will automatically be given a registration date and time to allow you to register first. This is a great opportunity for students to make sure you get into VA Educational Benefits eligible classes. This new process reflects our commitment as a Partner for Veterans Supportive Campuses.
Visit Our Veterans Center
Please visit our Veterans Center, located in the Pirate Union Building. Designed specifically for our student veterans, it’s a space to build camaraderie, with resources available to study, relax, get help, share stories and make friends. The Veterans Center is open Wednesdays from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm for donuts and drop-in advising.
Additional Resources for Veterans
- Becoming a Veteran Student in WA
-
We understand that veterans and their families have unique needs and responsibilities. That's why every college has a veterans resource center to help veterans navigate the college process and use their veterans benefits. You may be able to receive college credit for military training, coursework and occupational specialty.
- GI Bill Benefits
-
GI Bill benefits help you pay for school and cover expenses while you’re training for a job. Since 1944, the GI Bill has helped qualifying Veterans and their family members get money to cover all or some of the costs for school or training.
- VA Education & Training Benefits
-
VA education benefits help Veterans, service members, and their qualified family members with needs like paying college tuition, finding the right school or training program, and getting career counseling. Learn how to apply for and manage the education and training benefits you’ve earned.
- Verify Enrollment
-
Find out how to verify your enrollment each month if you’re using education benefits.
- My HealtheVet
-
You can now manage your VA health care in the same place you manage your other VA benefits and services.
